A range of switching power
supplies with internal
uninterruptible power supply function. Available in industry-standard case styles and designed to replace the conventional PSU in the majority of computer systems. Unlike traditional UPS products, no external cabinets or additional interconnects are required. Benefits include high reliability, low running costs, high power efficiency and enhanced system security.
During periods when mains power is present, operation is identical to that of a standard switch mode power supply. In the event of a line voltage interruption or failure, UPS action seamlessly takes over and supports all dc outputs by drawing power from a disk-drive bay mounted battery pack. All units offer active power factor correction, a universal input voltage range (user-adjustable high-line/low-line selector switch eliminated), fan cooling, and are suitable for both industrial and commercial applications.
When used in conjunction with a standard BP2423A battery pack, hold-up times of 20 to 30 minutes can be achieved in typical PC based systems. A serial port compatible interface is provided for optional communication with host system hardware/software.

RUPS UPS power management software is designed to run on computer systems supported by a Built-in UPS (BI-UPS) with serial port interface.
During normal operation, it runs in the background and monitors the status of the UPS. In the event of a power failure, RUPS saves all open data files to disk, terminates active applications, shuts down the
operating system and turns off the computer.
All power events are recorded in a log file and all applications data automatically saved as a result of power interruptions.
